Control Who Gets In, When, and Where

Keys get copied, left at desks, and handed off to ex-employees. Access control replaces them with something smarter — credentials you can issue in seconds and revoke from your phone. We install systems for offices, warehouses, condos, medical clinics, and multi-tenant buildings across the GTA. Whether you need two doors or two hundred, we design it, cable it, program it, and train your team on how to run it.

Key Fobs & Cards

Proximity readers, HID cards, and encrypted fobs — the industry standard for offices and warehouses

Biometric Entry

Fingerprint and face recognition for high-security areas, server rooms, and executive offices

Cloud-Based

Manage access from anywhere, pull reports on demand, and onboard new staff in seconds

Mobile Credentials

Replace fobs with smartphones — the modern standard for condos and tech-forward offices

What We Install

Key Fob & Card Access Systems

The most common setup for offices, warehouses, and multi-unit buildings. Proximity readers at each door, encrypted fobs or cards for each user, and central software that tracks every entry. We work with HID, Kantech, Paxton, and Genea — the platforms commercial clients actually rely on. Time-based access rules (who can enter, when), automatic lockdowns, and full audit logs so you always know who was where.

Biometric Access Control

Fingerprint and face recognition for high-security zones — server rooms, executive offices, pharmacy storage, cannabis retail back-of-house, data centres. No fobs to lose, no cards to clone. We install ZKTeco and Suprema biometric readers, integrated with your main access platform so users can still use a card at the front door and biometrics at the sensitive areas.

Cloud-Based Access Control

Modern platforms like Brivo, Avigilon Alta, Kisi, and Openpath run everything through the cloud. Manage users, unlock doors, and pull access logs from your phone. Onboard a new hire from your car, revoke access in seconds when someone leaves, and get alerts when doors are propped open. We install the hardware, configure the cloud portal, and train your team on it.

Mobile Credential Systems

Replace key fobs with smartphones. Users unlock doors by tapping their phone or having it in their pocket (BLE). No more issuing physical credentials, no more lost fobs. Works with iOS and Android, integrates with most cloud access platforms. Condos and modern offices love this because the credential is always with the user and can be issued or revoked instantly.

Multi-Door & Multi-Site Systems

Whether you have 4 doors across one building or 200 doors across 15 sites, a single platform manages it all. One user profile, global access rules, unified reporting. We plan network architecture, run the cabling between buildings if needed, and configure the centralized software so your facilities team is not jumping between 10 different panels.

Intercom & Video Entry Integration

For buildings that need controlled entry plus the ability to buzz visitors in — condos, medical offices, gated commercial properties. We tie access control into video intercoms (Aiphone, DoorBird, ButterflyMX, 2N) so tenants can see and unlock the front door from their phone. Single-family or multi-tenant, we handle the wiring and the integration.

Who Uses Access Control

Offices & Co-Working

Controlled lobby access, per-tenant floor restrictions, meeting room scheduling integration

Warehouses & Distribution

Loading dock and yard access, after-hours lockdown, contractor and vendor management

Condos & Apartments

Front door buzzer integration, parking garage fobs, amenity room reservations, package rooms

Medical & Dental Clinics

Restricted pharmacy and supply rooms, after-hours staff access, patient privacy zones

Retail & Restaurants

Back-of-house access, safe rooms, kitchen and stockroom separation, manager overrides

Schools & Daycares

Controlled entry vestibules, lockdown functionality, staff-only areas, visitor sign-in

Our Install Process

Access control is more than bolting a reader to a door. Every install follows the same process:

1. Site Walk & Needs Assessment

We visit your property, map out every entry point, and figure out which doors need what kind of access. Some need simple fobs, some need biometric, some need intercom integration. We also review your existing doors — hollow metal, wood, glass storefront — and identify any hardware changes needed (electric strikes, magnetic locks, door closers).

2. Platform Recommendation

Based on your number of doors, users, sites, and budget, we recommend the right platform. Small office with 2-4 doors and a simple user list — probably Kantech or Paxton on-premise. Multi-site business with 20+ doors and remote staff — probably Brivo or Avigilon Alta cloud. We explain the trade-offs, not just push one brand.

3. Cable & Hardware Install

Running low-voltage cable to every reader, installing electric strikes or mag locks on each door, mounting readers, and wiring the control panel. Clean installs — cables in walls and ceiling, not surface-run. Proper fire code compliance for any door on an egress route.

4. Software Setup & Training

Configuring users, access groups, schedules, and alerts in the management software. Setting up admin accounts for your team. Walking you through how to add a new user, revoke a credential, pull an audit log, and handle emergencies (like propped doors or after-hours alarms).

5. Ongoing Support

Questions come up after the install — new employee needs a fob, you want to add a door, firmware update needed. We stay reachable. Maintenance plans are available for commercial clients who want scheduled inspections, firmware updates, and priority response.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does access control cost per door in Toronto?
Residential systems typically run $1,200-$2,500 per door installed. Commercial installs range $2,500-$8,000 per door depending on the reader type, door hardware needed, and whether you need electric strikes or magnetic locks. A small office with 4 doors usually lands between $8,000-$15,000 all-in. A 10-12 door commercial build-out with cloud software runs $25,000-$50,000. We quote per-site after a walkthrough — prices vary a lot based on door hardware condition.
Key fob vs card vs biometric — which should I choose?
Fobs and cards use the same underlying tech (proximity readers) and work well for offices, warehouses, and condos — cheap to replace, easy to issue, good audit trail. Biometric (fingerprint or face) is better for high-security areas where you need certainty about who actually entered, because you cannot lend your face to someone. Most setups we do use a mix: cards for general doors, biometric for server rooms or restricted zones.
Cloud-based vs on-premise — what is the difference?
On-premise means the access control software runs on a PC or server at your location. No monthly fees, but you manage the server, backups, and updates yourself. Cloud-based (Brivo, Avigilon Alta, Kisi) runs in the cloud — monthly subscription, but you can manage access from any browser, it updates automatically, and multi-site management is much easier. Most new installs choose cloud for the flexibility.
Can access control integrate with my security cameras?
Yes. We integrate access events with your camera system so every door swipe pulls up the video clip automatically. You can see who actually walked through when a fob was used. Works with Hikvision, Avigilon, Milestone, and most major platforms. Makes investigations and audits dramatically faster.
What happens if the power or internet goes out?
All systems we install have battery backup on the control panel — typically 4-8 hours of continuous operation during a power outage. Readers continue working, doors continue to function normally. Cloud-based systems have local caching, so even if internet drops, recent credentials keep working. Doors can be programmed to fail-safe (unlock on power loss, for egress) or fail-secure (stay locked) depending on building code.
Can we revoke access remotely when someone leaves the company?
Yes — this is one of the biggest advantages over physical keys. Revoke a credential from your phone or desktop and within seconds the ex-employee cannot enter anywhere. Cloud systems do this instantly. On-premise systems push updates to readers within minutes. Compare that to changing locks and reissuing keys to everyone else after someone is terminated.
Do I need to replace my existing doors?
Usually not. Most standard commercial doors (hollow metal, wood, aluminum storefront) can be retrofitted with electric strikes or magnetic locks. Glass doors and some older wood doors may need reinforcement or frame modifications. During the site walk, we check every door and tell you upfront which ones need hardware upgrades before install.
Can we manage visitors and contractors?
Yes. Modern cloud platforms include visitor management — pre-register a guest, send them a QR code or mobile credential that works only during their scheduled visit, and automatically expires after. Contractors get longer-term credentials tied to specific doors and days. All activity is logged, so you have a complete record of every non-employee who entered your building.
Do you service the entire GTA?
Yes. We install and service access control across Toronto, North York, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Aurora, Newmarket, Thornhill, and the broader GTA. For larger multi-site deployments, we also work across the rest of Southern Ontario.

A friend, who is a contractor, referred Acetec to me, and I contacted them on a Thursday with my project details—an 8-camera exterior home security system connected to an NVR/network. They responded promptly and were on-site early Saturday morning. The team was well-organized and came prepared, conducting a thorough walk-around before recommending the most efficient setup. They completed the installation and cleanup in about 5 hours. After installation, they performed a final walk-around, adjusted the camera angles to my exact specifications, and provided a quick tutorial on the software/app, allowing me to easily access the cameras on my phone. Punctual. Pleasant. Professional.

They showed up on the appointment date and installed four HD cameras around the house, ran the wires to basement, installed necessary hardware to show all four pictures on a 24" monitor. They also helped us to install related AP on our cellphones. We can now monitor around our house 24/7 from anywhere. It took them half a day to complete the job.
We are very happy by the service we received.
