Built for Warehouses, Not Bolted On

Most security companies install the same residential gear at warehouses and call it done. Then a forklift hits a $400 camera, the dock door fails on a snow day, and the system that was supposed to protect your inventory becomes a maintenance bill. We design for the actual environment — vandal-rated cameras above forklift reach, perimeter coverage that works in snow and -40 cold, dock door monitoring tied to access control, and ULC-certified monitoring so your insurance carrier stays happy. From single-tenant 20,000 sq ft buildings to multi-bay distribution centres, we plan it, run the cable, install the equipment, and stay reachable for service.

Loading Dock Coverage

4K cameras with LPR, dock-door monitoring, seal verification — 68% of warehouse theft happens here

Perimeter & Yard

IP66 weather-rated, IK10 vandal-resistant, night vision and thermal options for fence-line and yard

ULC-Certified Alarms

Ontario insurance carriers require ULC-S561 monitoring — we install systems that qualify for premium discounts

Integrated Access Control

Dock doors, man-doors, yard gates, and contractor management on one cloud platform

What We Install in Warehouses

4K & AI-Powered CCTV Cameras

Bullet cameras down racking aisles for long-range visibility, dome and turret cameras at intersections and pick areas, PTZ for active monitoring of large open zones, and license plate recognition (LPR) at every truck entry. We use Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, Axis, and Hanwha — chosen per zone, not bundled as one-size-fits-all. AI cameras with object detection flag forklift incidents, after-hours motion, and unauthorized vehicles in real time instead of after the fact.

Loading Dock & Perimeter Surveillance

Loading docks are the highest-risk area in any warehouse — industry data shows 68% of theft happens at receiving and shipping. We install elevated overview cameras for full dock visibility plus ground-level cameras for license plates, seal numbers, and personnel ID. Perimeter cameras get IP66/67 weather ratings, IK10 vandal-resistant housings, built-in heaters for Ontario winters, and wide-dynamic-range sensors so they capture detail in both bright outdoor sun and shadowed interior dock zones.

Commercial Access Control

Card and fob readers at every man-door, mag locks or electric strikes on dock-side doors, mobile credentials for management, and biometric readers for restricted zones (server rooms, cage storage, executive offices). Cloud platforms like Brivo, Avigilon Alta, and Kantech let your facilities manager onboard a new hire from their phone, revoke a contractor in seconds, and pull an audit log when something goes missing. We also integrate dock door sensors so you can see which bay door is open, when, and by whom.

ULC-Monitored Intrusion Alarms

Most Ontario commercial insurance policies require ULC-S561 certified monitoring — without it you can lose coverage or pay much higher premiums. We install alarm systems that meet this standard: motion sensors, glass-break detectors, door contacts, panic buttons, and 24/7 monitoring from a ULC-listed central station. Alarms tie into the camera and access control system so a triggered sensor immediately surfaces the relevant video clip and door log.

Yard, Gate & LPR Systems

For fenced yards, drive-through bays, and trailer parking, we install gate access control with LPR or RFID — trucks get pre-authorized, gates open automatically, and every plate gets logged. Combine with thermal perimeter cameras and you have a complete record of every vehicle and every person on the property, day or night, summer or winter.

Network Cabling & Server Room

None of this works without proper cabling. We run Cat6 or Cat6a to every camera and reader, fiber backbone between buildings if needed, and Fluke-certified terminations so you have documentation when something fails. We also build out the IDF/server room — racks, switches, PoE injectors, NVR mounting, UPS backup. One trade for the whole job, no finger-pointing between contractors when something does not work.

Warehouse Types We Cover

Distribution Centres

Multi-dock facilities with 24/7 truck activity, LPR at gates, dock door monitoring, perimeter and yard coverage

Cameras rated to -40°C, sealed housings, anti-fog domes, heater-equipped exterior cameras for Ontario winters

Manufacturing Floor

Production line monitoring, safety incident review, restricted-area access control, integration with ERP/WMS where useful

3PL & Fulfillment

Pick-and-pack camera coverage, accountability at each transfer point, contractor and seasonal staff access management

Cannabis & Regulated

Health Canada-compliant camera coverage, retention requirements, cage and vault biometric access, sealed audit logs

Last-Mile & Fleet Yards

Vehicle yard surveillance, fuel pump monitoring, gate LPR, after-hours intrusion alarms with ULC monitoring

Where We Place Cameras

A warehouse camera plan is not just “how many” — it is “where” and “what type.” Every site survey produces a coverage map for these zones:

Loading Docks (Highest Priority)

Elevated overview cameras for full dock visibility, ground-level identification cameras at each bay door, and LPR cameras to capture every truck plate before it backs in. Wide-dynamic-range sensors handle the worst lighting in the building — bright outdoor sun behind a dark interior dock. Cabling stays above 14 feet to avoid forklift damage.

Perimeter & Property Line

Cameras at regular intervals along the fence, with extra coverage at corners and gates (the most-attacked points). Outdoor IP66/67 housings, IK10 vandal rating, infrared night vision, and built-in heaters for winter. Thermal cameras for high-value sites where you need detection in zero light.

Racking Aisles & Pick Zones

Bullet cameras at the ends of each aisle for long-range visibility down the row. Dome cameras at intersections for 360 coverage. Wide-angle coverage of pick-and-pack stations where inventory changes hands — these are the moments where shrinkage happens, and they are also where audit trails matter most.

Receiving, Staging & Shipping

Every transfer point gets dedicated camera coverage: receiving zone (verifying inbound counts), staging (between receive and putaway), and shipping (verifying outbound loads). When something is missing, you can pull video at every step instead of guessing where it disappeared.

Parking, Yard & Driveways

Vehicle entry/exit cameras with LPR, parking lot coverage for employee and visitor vehicles, driveway cameras for late-night drop-offs and pickups. Combined with yard gate access control, you get a complete vehicle log for the property.

Server Room, Office & Cage Storage

Cameras inside the IDF/server room, at the manager office, and inside cage or vault areas where high-value inventory is kept. Biometric access control on those doors so swipe logs match camera footage exactly.

Our Install Process

A 50,000 sq ft warehouse needs more planning than a four-camera home install. Every project follows the same process:

1. Site Survey & Threat Assessment

We walk the entire property — inside and out. Map every dock door, man-door, gate, and blind spot. Review your incident history, insurance requirements, and any compliance needs (ULC, PSISA, Health Canada for cannabis). Identify high-risk zones and figure out where camera coverage actually pays back.

2. System Design & Quote

You get a detailed proposal: camera count, types, placement diagram, access control door schedule, alarm zones, monitoring plan, and cabling layout. Fixed-price quote, no surprise change orders. We explain the trade-offs (4K vs 1080p, AI vs standard, on-prem vs cloud) so you decide based on real information.

3. Cabling & Hardware Install

Cat6 or Cat6a runs to every device, fiber where building-to-building or distance demands it, conduit above forklift reach, Fluke certification on every drop. Camera mounting on poles, eaves, ceiling brackets, and racking columns. Door hardware (electric strikes, mag locks) and reader installs. Alarm panel, sensors, sirens, and ULC monitoring activation.

4. Configuration & Integration

NVR setup with motion zones, retention rules, and remote access. Cloud access control configured with users, schedules, and door groups. Camera-access-alarm integration so events surface together. Mobile app setup for management. Training your facilities team on how to add a user, pull video, and respond to an alarm.

5. Documentation & Ongoing Support

You get a full as-built document: camera diagram, cable schedule, door list, login credentials, and warranty info. We stay reachable for service — new device adds, firmware updates, or troubleshooting. Maintenance plans available with quarterly inspections and priority response for facilities that need uptime guarantees.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a warehouse security system cost in Toronto?
A small warehouse with 8-12 cameras typically runs $4,000-$8,000 installed. Mid-sized facilities with full coverage (cameras + access control + alarm) usually land between $8,000 and $18,000. Large industrial sites with LPR, perimeter thermal, multi-dock coverage, and integrated access control often exceed $20,000-$50,000. ULC-certified monthly alarm monitoring starts around $45/month. We quote per site after a walkthrough — pricing depends heavily on building size, dock count, and cabling complexity.
Why do loading docks need so many cameras?
Industry data shows roughly 68% of warehouse theft happens at the loading dock — that is where inventory leaves the building and where most insider activity occurs. A proper dock setup needs an elevated overview camera per bay (showing the whole dock action), a ground-level identification camera (capturing license plates, seal numbers, and worker faces), and ideally an LPR camera at the truck entry. The combination gives you accountability at every step of the load-out.
Do I need ULC-certified alarm monitoring for my warehouse?
In most cases yes — most Ontario commercial insurance policies require ULC-S561 certified monitoring to maintain coverage and qualify for premium discounts. ULC stands for Underwriters Laboratories of Canada and is the standard your insurer is looking for. We install alarm systems that meet ULC standards and route monitoring through a ULC-listed central station, so you stay compliant and your premiums stay reasonable.
Will the cameras work in cold storage or freezer warehouses?
Yes — but you need cameras specifically rated for it. Standard outdoor cameras top out around -30°C; cold storage cameras are rated down to -40°C with sealed housings, built-in heaters where needed, and anti-fog dome covers to prevent condensation when staff move between zones. We use specialized models for freezers and cold rooms — a regular IP camera will fail within weeks in those conditions.
Can the cameras and access control work together?
Yes, and this is where the system actually pays off. When a card or fob is used at a door, the platform automatically pulls up the video clip from the matching camera. So you can see who actually walked through versus who badged in. When a sensor triggers an alarm at 2am, the relevant cameras pop up immediately. We integrate cameras (Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Avigilon) with access control platforms (Brivo, Kantech, Avigilon Alta) so the data flows in both directions.
How long does a warehouse install take?
Small systems with 4-8 cameras typically take 1-2 days. Medium installs (12-24 cameras plus access control on a few doors) run 2-4 days. Large warehouses with full perimeter coverage, multi-dock LPR, integrated access control, and alarm systems can run 1-2 weeks. The biggest variable is cabling — long fiber runs between buildings, conduit work outdoors, or trenching for yard cameras adds days. We always give a written timeline before starting.
Can we monitor cameras and alarms remotely from a phone?
Yes. Every system we install includes mobile apps for live camera viewing, playback, alarm status, and access control management. Facilities managers can check the dock from home, unlock a door for an after-hours contractor, or get an alert when motion is detected outside business hours. iOS and Android, secure remote connections, no port-forwarding gymnastics.
Do you handle the network and cabling, or just the cameras?
Both. We run all the low-voltage cabling — Cat6/Cat6a to every camera and reader, fiber for backbone or building-to-building runs, conduit above forklift reach. Fluke-certified terminations with documentation. We also build out the server room: racks, PoE switches, NVR mounting, UPS backup. One contractor for the whole job means no finger-pointing when something needs service later.
Do you service warehouses across the entire GTA?
Yes. We install and service warehouse security systems across Toronto, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, North York, Aurora, Newmarket, Thornhill, and the broader Greater Toronto Area. For large multi-site deployments, we also work across Southern Ontario.

A friend, who is a contractor, referred Acetec to me, and I contacted them on a Thursday with my project details—an 8-camera exterior home security system connected to an NVR/network. They responded promptly and were on-site early Saturday morning. The team was well-organized and came prepared, conducting a thorough walk-around before recommending the most efficient setup. They completed the installation and cleanup in about 5 hours. After installation, they performed a final walk-around, adjusted the camera angles to my exact specifications, and provided a quick tutorial on the software/app, allowing me to easily access the cameras on my phone. Punctual. Pleasant. Professional.

They showed up on the appointment date and installed four HD cameras around the house, ran the wires to basement, installed necessary hardware to show all four pictures on a 24" monitor. They also helped us to install related AP on our cellphones. We can now monitor around our house 24/7 from anywhere. It took them half a day to complete the job.
We are very happy by the service we received.
